It is very hard to notice, but maybe sometimes you must have noticed a geometrical design placed in front of the main deity in certain temples. This design is nothing ordinary. It is one of the most important pieces in some temples. This is the Sri Chakra.
The Sri Chakra is known to attract the cosmic energy of the universe as it symbolizes the unfoldment of creation itself. The Shri Chakra is a pattern composed of nine interlocking triangles that surround a central point (bindu). These triangles represent the cosmos and the human body.
The Optimal Sri Chakra Must Satisfy 3 Main Parameters:
Concurrency
All triple intersections must meet at one point. Often while constructing Sri Chakra, errors in achieving perfect concurrency results in some extraneous secondary triangles. Despite the fact that it is mathematically impossible, architects of Sri Chakra can achieve this to a very pleasing level
Concentricity
The center of the innermost triangle and the enclosing circle must coincide. The 'bindu' of a Sri Chakra is placed at the center of the innermost triangle. This is known in mathematics as the incenter of a triangle(center of the circle inscribed in the triangle). In a perfect Sri Chakra, the 'bindu' must also be located at the center of the outermost circle.
Equilateral central triangle
The innermost triangle of the Sri Chakra must be an equilateral triangle. This means all the sides of this triangle must be equal. The property dictates the position of the center of mass.
When a Sri Chakra achieves concurrency, concentricity and equilateral central triangle, it is a perfectly balanced Sri Chakra. In other words the bindu, the center of the outer circle, and the center mass must be aligned to have the Optimal Sri Chakra.
