Who could ever have seen such an unforgettable and unusual site?. Even the passers-by, peered in awe at our garden and some stopped to have a closer look. Do you know what the time is?! My mom shouted. I abruptly came back to the real world and hastily dashed into the bathroom. I dressed up and got ready for my new school year with my mind filled with happiness. Oh, I forgot to introduce myself! I am Rajiv, a 12-year-old boy. In my euphoria, I became convinced that this year would be the best one I would ever have.

"Rise and shine son." My mother, who was sitting beside me on the bed, gently caressing my hair spoke with a gentle voice. Her love has never made me feel low, always keeping me cheerful and happy. In an instant, I was off my bed and with a smile on my face, I looked at the bright, sunny world outside from the open window and never had I ever seen scenery this beautiful. My mother slowly stood near me, putting her arms on my shoulder, even she gasped in joy and began pointing at the various species of birds chirping merrily at our garden. "Oh, you know that black and white bird? That is the Pled kingfisher, rare. I don't know how it came here. Among all these birds, did you notice the cute-looking squirrel with three stripes on its back? That squirrel is said to be the avatar of Lord Krishna." There were sparrows, shall birds (Shalik), weaver birds, and many other birds, all nestled on trees of all kinds in our majestic garden. My mom told me the various stories behind these mystical birds.

After offering my prayers to God, I gleefully packed my bag and began my long and beautiful journey to school. My school is distant from my home, but I relish every single second I spend in my wondrous journey. I first had to cross the river. You probably are thinking that it is better to use the boat. Naah! The real fun lies in folding the pant sleeve and going splish-splash across the shallow river. After you have done this seemingly difficult task, now you must walk your way through the woods. The green canopy that embellishes the mystical forest is something you rarely can find in cities. The beautiful early morning dew that settles on the leaves is a sight that cannot even be explained by words. I could spend the whole day in the woods, being in the presence of nature. Even my mother taught me that nature is such an inseparable component of our lives that we have accepted it to be God! But today, we are breaking the laws created for us by cutting forests down just for indulgence and wealth. How inhuman could we ever get? Anyways, soon I was out of the woods and had reached my ever so awaiting school.

At school, everything is so cheerful and lively. I walked to my class with unusual energy in my legs. As the day passed, I quickly made new friends. During the lunch break, one of my friends Devjit thought of giving us a treat on his birthday! Without wasting any time, we sped to the canteen. Devjit bought some food for us with the money he had brought. But while he was counting the notes, I noticed that the currency was fake! Different thoughts ran through my mind. The owner of the canteen shop was a very humble person and would not have noticed that the currency notes were fraudulent. I didn't say anything to Devjit that day. A lot of thoughts were zooming around in my brain. While going home, I was feeling very anxious. When I reached home, my mother asked me about my uneasy looks. I did not tell her anything and went into my room. "Should I tell my mother about what happened? No, let it remain a secret." Anxiety had taken over my mind. I even could not concentrate on my homework that day. Next morning, I asked Devjit to tell the truth to the shopkeeper and confess for your mistake, but he just kept on ignoring me on that note.

I could not take it anymore. I ran back home and told all that I was hiding to my mother. My mother listened to me very carefully and smiled with sympathy in her eyes. My mom and I went to the school and told everything to the headmaster. The headmaster appreciated me for being truthful. I apologised to the shopkeeper and paid the due amount. The kind shopkeeper asked me to come with him and took me under the big banyan tree behind the tree. He spoke, "Now have you understood what a good company means? One should always have a wise friend circle. Not only will it have a fruitful impact on your life but will make your actions right." The shopkeeper had made me mesmerized in his beautiful words which I could never forget.
